Water Damage Certified: Water Strikes Hardwood Flooring in this Newburgh Home

When it comes to water damage on your hardwood, there are a variety of factors that go into whether or not it can be salvaged.  Unless it is sewage damage, real hardwood flooring can typically be saved; however, manufactured or engineered flooring is usually a complete loss. These manufactured floors can withstand a moderate amount of washing, but a large amount of water can completely ruin them. Hardwood that is manufactured often contains layers that include plastic, which causes the swelling and warping to not return to normal after drying. 

In the case of this home, the flooring had to be removed and replaced because the swelling was too severe.
